From Lost to Liberated: The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

As many of you know, I’m still very early in my self-improvement journey — but I’ve already had a breakthrough that I know will carry me through the next year (and honestly, the rest of my life). It’s the realization that changed everything:

The only person who can save you is yourself.

For the longest time, I didn’t fully understand what that meant. Now I do — and it feels both freeing and empowering.

Where It All Started

To give you some context, the period of my life when I felt the happiest and most aligned was from 2014 to 2018, while I was in university. I thrived during those years. I loved being a student, living on my own for the first time, having my friends close by — some of them even living with me. I felt independent, alive, and full of possibility.

Then graduation hit.

And suddenly, I was expected to step into adulthood, pick a career path, and work a 9–5 job as if I magically knew who I was. I’ve never felt so lost. Starting that first full-time job made me genuinely sad. Since 2018, I’ve cycled through multiple jobs, and although I’ve “accepted” it on the surface, there were long stretches where I felt anxious, disconnected, and honestly… trapped. I became the classic definition of someone who lives for the weekend — and even then, sometimes my anxiety wouldn’t let me enjoy those moments either.

The Hard Truth I Didn’t Want to Admit

Here’s me being brutally honest. For a long time, I comforted myself with the idea that my husband would eventually earn enough for me to stay home — as a wife, and later a mom. I subconsciously believed someone else would eventually change my circumstances for me.

But recently, I reached a powerful and completely liberating realization:

No one is coming to rescue me.

The only person who can change my life… is me.

And strangely, that truth feels like freedom.

If You Aren’t Happy — Change It

If you’re unhappy in your life, change it.

If you want a new career, pursue it.

If you want to start a business, start it.

It sounds simple, but it’s not about flipping a switch overnight. It’s about recognizing that you aren’t stuck. You aren’t powerless. You aren’t waiting for some magical event or person to give you permission to start living the life you actually want.

I wasted so much time waiting for someone else to change the parts of my life I didn’t love. I sat in the passenger seat, hoping life would somehow redirect itself. But now — with this new mindset — I finally understand that I can create anything for myself. I just need to take the steps, even the small ones, to get there.

Change Starts With Your Mindset

Transformation isn’t instant. It’s built through small shifts in your everyday actions — and most importantly, your mindset.

If your mindset is negative, you’ll naturally filter the world through negativity. But when you think positive thoughts, your world responds differently. You’ve probably heard of the Law of Assumption: the idea that life aligns with what you assume to be true.

So from now on?

I’m allowing myself to be delusional — in the best way possible.

I will be happy.

I will work for myself.

I will build a business I love.

I will be financially free.

I’m choosing to assume these things as my truth until they become my reality.

Your Challenge: Be Delusional With Me

I’m challenging you — yes, you — to stop waiting for someone to swoop in and save you.

Stop watching life happen to other people while hoping your moment magically appears.

Be delusional.

Back yourself.

Start small.

Shift your mindset.

You can build the life you dream of. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen if you’re willing to take the tiny steps that compound over time.

Because honestly…what do you have to lose?

A Small Tool to Keep You Accountable (Coming Soon!)

One thing helping me stay consistent is a simple daily habit tracker I made for myself. It keeps me on track with the small routines and mindset shifts I’m building.

I’m turning it into a downloadable version soon so you can use it too — especially if you’re starting your own glow-up journey. Stay tuned!

Journal Prompt for You

Take a moment and reflect:

What is one part of your life you’ve been hoping someone else would fix — and what is one tiny action you can take today to change it yourself?

Write it down.

Say it out loud.

Make it real.

We’re in this together — and I can’t wait to grow with you.
